Tri-Pac, Inc., a contract development and manufacturing company (CDMO) specializing in liquid and aerosol filling for personal care and pharmaceutical marketers, is seeking an experienced Production Planner-Scheduler. The position is in South Bend, Indiana
Summary:
Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors the flow of products through the complete production cycle. Provides timely planning and scheduling of manufacturing work orders to the manufacturing floor to achieve both internal financial goals and customer delivery dates. Responsible for the technical aspects of scheduling materials, manpower and machines for a production operation. Duties include preparation of daily and weekly schedules for assigned product lines or departments and for coordination with overall master schedule. Communicate regularly with purchasing and production staff to adjust schedules to accommodate changes in machine and material availability or staffing. Works under little supervision and has significant responsibility for efficiency of operation.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Acknowledge and schedule customer orders, and production requirements based on existing inventory.
- Coordinate delivery of parts to expedite flow of material to meet production schedule.
- Utilize internal Tri-Pac system to auto‐generate manufacturing work orders.
- Release manufacturing work orders to the warehouse for staging chemicals for production
- Coordinate between warehouse and purchasing on material shortages.
- Coordinate/expedite manufacturing builds to ensure schedules are achieved.
- Completes status reports, such as production progress, customer information and material inventory.
- Notify customer service/sales of any schedule impacts to customers.
- Create monthly shop job cards for maintenance and cleaning.
- Close out job travelers, sort documentation and deliver to correct departments.
- Aid in closing jobs.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects.
- Support purchasing to expedite suppliers purchase orders If required.
- Create job packets.
- Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Production and Processing – Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing of product.
- Performs other duties as required.

- Report immediately to supervisor/lead/manager all problems, which may affect safety, equipment, tooling, part quality or the effectiveness of the Quality Management System.

- Regularly work a minimum of 40 hours per week plus overtime if warranted.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in manufacturing industry.
- 3+ years’ experience in planning/scheduling in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
