                                                       Forklift Operator- 1st Shift 

Job Description 
Tri-Pac, Inc. a contract development and manufacturing company (CDMO) specializing in liquid and aerosol filling for personal care and pharmaceutical marketers, is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator for immediate addition to our fast growing team. The position is in South Bend, Indiana.

Position Summary

The Forklift Drivers safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment within our facility(s).

Essential Job Functions

As a Forklift Driver, you will be expected to perform any of the following activities at various levels of speed as directed by the Team Leader:

  • Must operate set down forklift, standup forklift, and pallet jack.
  • Must be able to understand and complete all necessary functions of the operation of the inventory management bar code system related to the movement of material throughout the warehouse.
  • Must perform work in the following areas: Receiving, Staging, General Warehouse, Line Supply, Shipping, Mezzanine and Clean-Up.
  • Responsible for unloading, identifying, and counting all incoming components (Receiving).
  • Responsible for correctly ticketing and properly placing components in the warehouse
  • Responsible for moving components from warehouse and/or shuttles, to the desired area (Staging)
  • Responsible for supplying all lines with the correct components and returning all unused components to the warehouse
  • Responsible for moving palletized finished goods from the production area, receiving shipping information and properly loading goods on trailers (Shipping).
  • Must operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years forklift experience
  • Must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be able to successfully pass both written and driving tests
  • Self-organizedSelf-motivated
  • Able to stand, sit, lift, bend, crouch, reach and climb consistently for up to 12 hours.
  • Must be able to work in accordance with Health and Safety and GMP regulations.
  • Must be able to work overtime where necessary.

  • Possibility of working around unpleasant odors.
  • Working in non-temperature controlled environment
  • Possibility of working around high noise levels, depending on location.
  • Constant interaction with a variety of chemicals and chemical products.
